  • I'm going to give you more time to get your classmates and students from the other class to sign it. 
Tuesday, June 28th
  • Movie Day in the afternoon.
    • I will provide you with popcorn from Papa Jacks.
    • You may bring an extra snack and drink. 
    • Please be sure it doesn't not include any peanuts, nuts, fish, and shellfish.
      •  No energy drinks.  
    • I had to switch the day because there is a school assembly on the last day.
  • School BBQ from 5-7pm
    • $5 a per for a combo (Choice between a hotdog, hamburger, or a vegetarian/gluten free option. Comes with a bag of chips and a drink).
  • Term 2 Report Cards available in the Parent Portal

YEARBOOK STUDENT PAGE

  • Grade 6s, don't forget to be working on your personal page that will be part of the grade 6 yearbook!
  • The Google Slide for you to complete this on is in the workspace called "Classroom Information". You will see a red card with examples and another red card for you to complete your page. 
  • The instructions are on PAGE 1 of the Google Slide. We went over this all in class, but please read the instructions carefully and that your page includes everything that is listed,
  • Remember to ask your parents to help you choose 2 or more photos for your page. Make sure they are high resolution photos because if they are not, when the yearbook is printed, your pictures will look grainy (not clear).

Data Unit:

  • The hope/plan is to have completed the data unit before the March Break! 
  • This means that you will likely have a quiz this week and a test Thursday of next week.  

Covid Changes:

1. Wearing masks outdoors for staff and students is now optional.

2. Water fountains may be used for drinking. Water filling stations should only be used for filling water bottles. 

Highlights:

BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS

- This will occur for the whole school between 9:20-10am (approximately). 

- This is virtual. During this time you will learn about Black History, the roots of Blues music, learn about different instruments, and hear different styles of music.

STEAM WEEK

- Activities related to science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

2. Wednesday (March 2nd)

Ash Wednesday

- The virtual mass will start at 2:45pm. Instead of having ashes placed on our head, we will be placing a sticker over our hearts.

1. Tuesday (22nd)

FSL Pathway Forms are due for grade 6s.

- Grade 6s, check with your parents that they have done this. It's about choosing the french path for next year; whether you're taking french immersion or not. 

2. Wednesday (23rd)

Pink Shirt day! 

- Wear a pink shirt to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and anti-bullying!

Coding Workshop!

- Our class (afternoon), will be participating in a Coding Workshop during 3rd block. This will be a virtual Google Meet. You will be learning about coding and using a computer to practise.
